Midwest Living's Editorial Guidelines Published on May 23, 2023 Print Share Photo: Kim Cornelison Hands On Time: 15 mins Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Servings: 6 Ingredients ¼ cup unsalted butter, plus more for greasing the dish 1 pound sweet cherries, pitted 3 eggs ⅔ cup granulated sugar ¾ cup all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons vanilla pinch kosher salt 1 ¼ cups whole milk powdered sugar Directions Preheat oven to 350°. Generously grease a 2-quart baking dish with softened butter. Melt 1/4 cup butter; let cool. Spread cherries in the bottom of prepared dish. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Slowly whisk in the melted butter. Add flour, vanilla and salt; whisk until smooth. While whisking constantly, slowly pour in milk. Continue whisking until batter is smooth. Pour batter over cherries in baking dish. Bake until puffed and golden and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on a wire rack 20 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
